Faculty Associate Spotlight

Ruth Kershner joins an elite group of faculty as West Virginia University’s 17th CASE Professor of the Year.

The key to Ruth Kershner’s success as a teacher is her passion for the subject matter and her ability to engage every student. Her women’s studies courses, Gender and Violence and Women’s Health, are extremely popular.

It’s Time to Celebrate!

In 2010, the Center for Women’s Studies will celebrate its 30th anniversary. Founded in 1980 as a program that offered a certificate in Women’s Studies, the curriculum has evolved into a degree-granting program with nearly 100 faculty associates from departments across the university. The mission of the Center to advance the status of women and conduct feminist scholarship can be found in its courses, research program, and service activities.
