Faculty Associate Spotlight

“Do you feel valued in your workplace? Is the workload shared equally among your co-workers?”

These and other questions were asked by Leslie E. Tower, Associate Professor in the Division of Social Work, in a work climate survey of West Virginia University faculty. The goal of this project, sponsored by the Council for Women’s Concerns and endorsed by the Faculty Senate, is to assess how faculty members perceive their work environment.

It’s Time to Celebrate!

In 2010, the Center for Women’s Studies will celebrate its 30th anniversary. Founded in 1980 as a program that offered a certificate in Women’s Studies, the curriculum has evolved into a degree-granting program with nearly 100 faculty associates from departments across the university. The mission of the Center to advance the status of women and conduct feminist scholarship can be found in its courses, research program, and service activities.
